This week our school community held a litter awareness week and participated in An Taisce’s National Spring Clean week. Students were also learning about how they can contribute towards a greener school environment. This week students from different years carried out a spring clean of our beautiful grounds. The teamwork, energy, spirit and enthusiasm students had for wanting to take care of our environment was exceptional. Our schools Green Schools Committee spoke at assembly about the importance of each individuals actions in protecting our environment. We held a competition for students to create our schools green schools motto. Subject teachers across the board got involved in our awareness week for example in languages students learnt new environmental keywords. On Friday, students were encouraged to wear an item of green clothing to show their support for our school becoming greener.
Throughout the remainder of the school year our Green Schools Committee will be continuing to educate students about the importance of being active in protecting our environment
