5th Class Pupils reach National Finals in Knex Competition

5th Class Girls and Boys have been working on the "Engineers Shape Our Future" project for 4 months and, guided by their teachers Ms McCutcheon and Mr Sheils, compiled a comprehensive Portfolio, which was a compilation of engineering design, work assignments, photos of field trips and team work in action, students and teachers reflections and a movie of one construction which was motorised.

The combined class entry was submitted to the competition in late April. Out of 250 schools, 5th Class Girls and Boys finished in the top 20 for the third consecutive year. We have been invited to the final on the 10th of June which will take place in The Helix, DCU, where students will make project presentations and undertake more design challenges. We wish them the very best of luck in this endeavour.

  Secondary School Sports Day
11th May

The Jaguars, Pumas and Panthers (all House team names) gathered at the UCD sports complex on a beautiful sunny morning. It was to be an eventful day.

The teachers gathered around to receive their brief as they sipped their coffee and peered over their sunglasses to view the set up of the sports field. The final few colourful athletes arrived and we were ready to go!........
