Art Week

The theme of Art week this week was Movement.

Every day the children spent time exploring drawing in their Art Week Booklet. Each class was also set a specific Art activity to complete by Friday.

Assembly

Every morning is Assembly the children responded to a painting or sculpture stimulus during Art appreciation and interpretation sessions.

Friday

In Assembly on Friday a representative from each class showed examples of what they worked on in their class group and explained the process they used.

Junior & Senior Infant Explored Movement of colour and designs that can be made through force.
1st & 2nd Class Explored Movement through colour from dark to light. Tinting.
3rd & 4th Class Explored Movement into a picture. Perspective.
5th & 6th Class Explored Movement from dark to light (tinting) and from one primary colour through another.(colour mixing).

 

After Assembly on Friday all the doors in the school were opened and everyone got to walk through the school to appreciate everyone’s Art work that had been done during the week.
