WELCOME to Primary Old Conna
John Scottus school offers a vision of education which gives young people the self mastery, strength of character and compassion to contribute meaningfully to the world around them. Central to the ethos of the school is character development and quality learning through cultivating the values of stillness, attention, enquiry and unity.
It is an education based on the belief that each child can come to discover and express their innate gifts, that each child can come to contribute something unique and exceptional, that each child has at their heart a limitless potential.
We believe in nurturing the whole child, mind, body, and spirit through an enriching educational experience that goes beyond academics. Our unique approach integrates mindfulness, creativity, critical thinking, and a love of learning to ensure every child reaches their full potential in a supportive and serene environment. We recognise the importance of a calm, focused mind for learning. Meditation is a core part of our daily routine, encouraging students to pause, reflect, and reset between activities. This practice helps unlock their inherent potential.
With our small class sizes, each student receives personalised attention, ensuring that their individual learning needs are met. This approach helps build confidence and fluency, both crucial for developing problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, laying the foundation for success in the Primary School Curriculum.
We love being outdoors! Natural settings help children focus, enhance learning, and stimulate creative thinking. Outdoor environments provide a relaxing, multi-sensory experience that aids in knowledge retention. Our serene countryside campus is a haven for learning and growth.
