The John Scottus TY students prepared a delicious lunch in aid of the Jharkali Education project on Friday Oct 16th. .
This school year, in January 2016, our Transition Year students will travel to Jharkhali, a village in the Sunderbans delta region, to work alongside students of Loreto Day School Kolkata and local village children to build up their school by adding a rooftop hall and engaging in a joint English language teaching programme.
The project also funds a monthly training programme for teachers in the Jharkhali Village School and 10 other schools on the island of Basanti in the Sunderbans which is India Government approved and managed by Loreto Sealdah from Kolkata.
