Philosophy Discovery Day in Townley Hall

On Wednesday 9th January 8 students, from Transition Year and 5th year, Ms Hall and myself set out for a Philosophy Discovery Day. We were blessed with a sunny day and a great team of youngsters. We had various physical challenges which we reflected on after they happened in short report-backs. The challenges required team effort, reliability, bouncebackability and trust. These challenges included catching one another as we fell backwards from a height, getting across a dangerous mine zone with 2 planks per team of four in a race against the other team and helping each other out of a circle of chairs which could not be touched. We lit a fire in the dining-room, had lunch and roamed around outside.  It was worth every minute of it.
